Origins & Institutional Development

Removing Financial Barriers to Education Since 2020

TDF was founded in 2020 in response to a pressing community reality: vulnerable children were being denied the opportunity to learn because their families could not afford the cost of education.

What began as an effort to open doors to schooling in Dhuusamareeb through the establishment of Tayo Primary School has grown into a multi-sector development organization working across central Somalia. Today, TDF provides tuition-free enrollment, the Somali national curriculum, Arabic language instruction, ethical studies, furnished classrooms, and separate sanitation facilities for boys and girls.
